About

‘Checking-in’ is about supporting rural people. To help farmers, growers, fishers and others to build-back from severe weather, economic or other challenges, we’re hosting a series of community events and wellbeing programmes across the North Island. Also keep an eye out for our series of practical wellbeing tools & tips. Delivered by rural leaders and resiliency experts, it’s about sharing everyday actions to help navigate tough times.

A collaborative rural wellbeing recovery project, ‘Checking-in’ is run by the Agri-Women’s Development Trust, Rural Women New Zealand and Farmstrong with support from the Rural Support Trust. The project is funded by the Ministry for Primary Industries. The tools & tips email series is a collection of segments from The Big Check-in, an online evening of support for rural people post-cyclone, held in May 2023. Thanks also to those organisations who supported The Big Check-in - Horticulture New Zealand, Vegetables NZ, Summerfruit NZ, New Zealand Winegrowers, Beef + Lamb New Zealand and FirstMate.
